If you are a graduate and want to fast track you career in hospitality then read on! Hilton offers three graduate and management development programmes that aim to develop your skills and fast track your career with us.

Elevator

Take the 'Elevator', Hilton's award winning, fast track development programme

The Elevator General Manager programme aims to develop you to become a General Manager or Hotel Manager of a Hilton hotel within 5-8 years of starting the programme.

The initial 18-months training consists of two international 9-month hotel placements.

During the placements, you work in the four main business areas of the hotels - Operations, Business Development, Human Resources and Finance - combining operational, all-round experience with off-the-job training and business driven projects.

SPARK - Management Development Programme

Join as a Supervisor and at the end of 2 years you will be ready for your first Departmental Head role. The SPARK Programme is a hotel based management programme, so you go into a real role from Day One.

If you are a graduate, have a diploma, hotel school or equivalent qualification, or have good hospitality experience and a real passion and enthusiasm for the industry, your career with Hilton could be about to begin.

  • During the 2 years of the Programme you will carry out at least two roles within your chosen specialty e.g. Rooms, F & B or Revenue
  • You will also be supported by a senior management mentor and you will be involved in a wide range of milestone projects and activities.
  • Meanwhile your formal learning will follow our defined Leadership and Management Programmes and of course your job and technical skills will be acquired as you progress through your career path.

When you have successfully completed the SPARK Programme you will have a career development review to discuss your aspirations and the job opportunities within your region and throughout the country.

Hilton Finance Graduate Development Programme

If you are you good with numbers and want to develop a career as a commercial accountant in hospitality, the Hilton Finance Graduate Development Programme could be your next move!

The Finance Graduate Development Programme offers a structured career path in Finance at Hilton UK & Ireland.

During the 3-year programme, you will spend at least one year based at our International Operations Centre in Watford, UK, one year in a hotel and one year in another part of the organisation to provide you with as broad an experience as possible.

You will also be funded to study for the Chartered Institute of Management Accounts (CIMA) examinations, which are an essential part of your qualifications as a Hilton Finance Development Programme graduate.

When you successfully complete your 3-year programme, you can expect to take on a permanent senior role in Finance at one of our hotels.

The selection process for the 2009 intake starts in February 2009 with the six successful candidates starting their programme in September.
